my time in sevilla

![]() I stayed in the Triana barrio of Sevilla-- known historically for its azulejo (tile) creation. I took this photo of an intricately decoration azulejo bench at the Museo Cerámica de Triana. | ![]() I studied at the Universidad Pablo de Olavide (UPO) in Sevilla. I took the metro there every day and spent my time learning in English in Spanish there (and trying all sorts of new Spanish snacks and lots of caf é bonbon from the machine). | ![]() I had some of the most magical experiences here at the Plaza de Sevilla. I spent many an afternoon drawing its architecture and paintings using water from its fountains. |

![]() This is another view from the Plaza de España-- this time of a musician playing lovely flamenco music, one of my favorite musical genres. | ![]() This is a photo of the replica of La Giralda, which sits atop the famous gothic Catedral de Sevilla. | ![]() This is an azulejo image of La Virgen del RocÃo in Sevilla. These works of art caught my attention and tugged at my heart as I wandered around the city. |
![]() I took this photo outside the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, where I spent hours. | ![]() I took this in the Museo Prado in Madrid. Once again, I really enjoyed my time spent in museums surrounded by beautiful art. | ![]() I took this photo of a window in Faro, Portugal as well. It reminds me the importance of perspective and noticing details in your life. |
![]() This is one of the most classic views of Sevilla, where all the tourists take a photo. | ![]() Above is a view of an azulejo work, viewed from the street, in Triana. | ![]() I took this picture in Faro, Portugal where I met up with my cousin who was living in France at the time. I welcomed this time with family. |
![]() This is a view from a mountain in San Sebastián (or Donostia in Basque), a gorgeous coastal city in El PaÃs Vasco. | ![]() Bitter Seville oranges could be seen all over the city. They were first brought to Sevilla by the Arabs when the AndalucÃa region was called Al-Andalus. As a Floridian, they were a welcome site that made me feel at home. | ![]() These oranges caught my eye again-- this time they were sweet oranges like the ones we have here in Florida. I took this photo in Chefchaouen, a beautiful blue city in northern Morocco. |
![]() I took this in the back of my Uber on the way to Sevilla's airport to board my flight to Miami. I would bring all my memories and photos home with me. |
